Why UV Lamp Age Matters

UV lamps are used to expose water to ultraviolet radiation. The fact that a lamp still illuminates does not by itself confirm that it is producing the UV output required by the system.

If the pond is relying on UV performance for water clarity or another specific treatment purpose, check the complete UV system rather than judging it from lamp operation alone.

The Calendar Is Only Half the Story

The calculated date is a maintenance planning point, not proof that the UV system is operating correctly until that date.

A dirty quartz sleeve, incorrect flow rate, damaged components or another system fault can affect performance independently of lamp age.
